Delete your account & data
Last updated: September 10, 2026
You can permanently delete your Kitchen Guru account and personal data at any time. Here's how, and exactly what happens.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Kitchen Guru and go to You / Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm twice. Your account and its content are removed. Uploaded-photo cleanup may take a few minutes, or longer during a service outage.
Want a copy first? Use Settings → Download my data before you delete.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email kitchenguru2026@gmail.com from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request." We'll verify it's you and process the deletion. We aim to complete email requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in record (email and authentication account).
- Your profile (display name, profile photo, profile details).
- Your age-eligibility record.
- Your content — bulletin posts, direct messages you sent, court photos, and reviews.
- Your check-in / court-presence records and friend connections.
- Your push token and notification settings.
All uploaded profile, court, and group photos, including replaced uploads, are queued for file deletion with automatic retries. Photo files may remain accessible until cleanup completes.
What may be retained, and why
- Safety reports and private evidence. Retained while a report is open and for 180 days after resolution, including after account deletion.
- Legal & financial. Limited records we're required to keep (for example, subscription/transaction records held by the app stores, or information needed to comply with law).
- Backups. Residual copies may persist in secure backups for a limited time before being overwritten.
- De-identified data. Aggregate or anonymized data that can no longer identify you may be retained.
Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted it can't be recovered, and you'll lose your friends, messages, and any Pro access tied to the account. Cancel an active subscription separately in your App Store or Google Play settings to stop future billing.
