Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 22, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 10, 2026

Kitchen Guru is the social map for pickleball. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We've tried to keep it in plain English.

The short version. We collect the information needed to run a court-finding and player-matching app: your account details, your age (to confirm you're 18+), the content you choose to post, and court check-ins. Public court counts do not identify you. Accepted friends can see check-ins you make visible. Your player name or photo may also appear in invitations, friend requests, shared groups, or content you choose to publish. We don't sell your personal information.

1. Who we are

Kitchen Guru ("Kitchen Guru," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Parrot Key LLC, located in Florida, United States. This policy applies to the Kitchen Guru mobile apps and this website (together, the "Service").

2. Information we collect

3. How we use information

4. How information is shared & who can see what

Visibility inside the app is intentionally limited:

WhoWhat they can see
Public court-map viewersAnonymous aggregate court counts, without identifying checked-in players.
Friends (after you both approve)Your display name and court presence when you make your check-in visible, plus the ability to message you.
Request and invitation recipientsRelevant player names and profile photos so they can decide whether to connect or join.
Accepted group membersOther members' player names, profile photos, and messages they have access to in that group. Group membership does not mean every member is a mutual friend.
Public-content viewersContent you choose to publish, such as bulletin posts, court updates, comments, court photos, and reviews. Public posts, court updates, and comments display the author's player name.
People holding a photo URLProfile and court photo files, even if a court photo is not shown in the app's approved-photo list. Group photos do not have this public access.

We also share information with:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Location information

Kitchen Guru is built around finding courts, so location is central. You control when you check in. When you do, your presence contributes to a court's count. To everyone except your approved friends, that contribution is anonymous — shown only as part of an aggregate number. We do not track your location in the background. Optional when-in-use location can center the map. Map viewport bounds are transmitted to retrieve courts in view but are not retained; we do not retain raw GPS coordinates server-side. You can stop sharing your presence at any time, and you can manage location permissions in your device settings.

6. How long we keep information

7. Your rights & choices

8. How we protect information

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit information to authorized users. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

9. Age requirement (18+)

Kitchen Guru is intended only for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will remove it. If you believe a minor is using Kitchen Guru, contact us.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
