Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 22, 2026 · Last updated: July 16, 2026
Kitchen Guru is the social map for pickleball. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We've tried to keep it in plain English.

Kitchen Guru ("Kitchen Guru," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Parrot Key LLC, located in Florida, United States. This policy applies to the Kitchen Guru mobile apps and this website (together, the "Service").
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account & sign-in. Your email address and password authentication state, used to create and secure your account.
- Age verification. Your date of birth, used to confirm you are 18 or older. We store your age-eligibility status.
- Profile. Your display name and, optionally, a profile photo and details you choose to add.
- Content you create. Bulletin posts, direct messages, court photos, reviews, and similar content you submit.
- Safety actions. Reports you file and users you block.
- Communications. Messages you send to our support team.
Information we collect automatically
- Court activity. Check-ins and court presence you create by using the map and checking in.
- Device & app data. Device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical data.
- Usage & diagnostics. How the app is used and crash/error reports, to keep the app working and improve it. We may use privacy-respecting analytics and crash-reporting tools for this (see "Service providers" below).
- Push tokens. If you enable notifications, a push token so we can send alerts (for example, when a court near you needs players).
Information from others and third parties
- Other users. Friend requests, messages, and reports that involve you.
- App stores & subscriptions. When you subscribe to Premium, the Apple App Store or Google Play processes your payment. We (through our subscription provider) receive your subscription status — not your full payment card details.
3. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service — the live court map, check-ins, the bulletin, friends, messaging, photos, and reviews.
- Confirm you meet our 18+ age requirement.
- Keep the community safe — review reports, enforce our Community Guidelines, and prevent abuse.
- Send service messages and, if enabled, push notifications.
- Manage Premium subscriptions and entitlements.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How information is shared & who can see what
Visibility inside the app is intentionally limited:
| Who | What they can see |
|---|---|
| Players who are not your friends | Only anonymous aggregate counts of how many people are at a court. Not your name, profile, or exact position. |
| Friends (after you both approve) | Your display name and that you're present/checked in at a court, plus the ability to message you. |
| Anyone in a shared space | Content you choose to post publicly, such as bulletin posts, court photos, and reviews. |
We also share information with:
- Service providers (processors). Trusted vendors who run parts of the Service on our behalf — for example cloud hosting and database, subscription management, app-store payments and push delivery, and analytics/crash reporting. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Safety & legal. When we believe it's reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Kitchen Guru.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, consistent with this policy.
5. Location information
Kitchen Guru is built around finding courts, so location is central. You control when you check in. When you do, your presence contributes to a court's count. To everyone except your approved friends, that contribution is anonymous — shown only as part of an aggregate number. You can stop sharing your presence at any time, and you can manage location permissions in your device settings.
6. How long we keep information
- Account & profile: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account (see Account Deletion).
- Check-in / court-presence records: automatically removed after a limited period (approximately 30 days) so the map reflects current activity, not history.
- Content (posts, messages, photos, reviews): kept until you delete it or delete your account, except where we must retain it for safety or legal reasons.
- Safety records (reports, blocks): may be retained as needed to keep the community safe and enforce our rules.
7. Your rights & choices
- Access & export. You can request and export your data from within the app (Settings).
- Delete. You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data from within the app, or by request — see Account Deletion.
- Notifications. Turn push notifications on or off in the app or your device settings.
- Location. Manage location permissions in your device settings.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, certain U.S. states), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of your information. Contact us and we'll honor applicable rights.
8. How we protect information
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and strict, row-level access controls in our database so users can only reach data they're permitted to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
9. Age requirement (18+)
Kitchen Guru is intended only for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will remove it. If you believe a minor is using Kitchen Guru, contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
